1. Rate your distress level on a scale of 0 (no distress) to 10 (maximum distress).
2. Set Up Statement: Tap on Karate Chop point while stating: “Even though I ______________ (describe your problem), I deeply and completely love and accept myself.”
3. Tapping Sequence: Tap through the points beginning at the top of the head and work your way down to the wrist points (the 9 gamut and finger points will be explained at another time). Go back around the points a few times as you describe the problem. Be as thorough and specific as possible. It can be really helpful to identify the feeling and how it is manifesting in your body (i.e. tightening of the jaw, it feels red, and moves down my throat). Tap through the points until you notice some kind of a shift (i.e. yawning, deep breath, or coughing).
4. Reassess your distress level again on a scale of 0 to 10. If it is still high, repeat steps 2 and 3 until the distress level is as close to 0 as possible. Please note: sometimes the issues/emotions change. Just continue to roll with whatever comes up.

These points are at the ends of energy meridians and located just beneath the surface of the skin, responding to touch rather than having to use needles.
While each energy meridian relates to a specific organ or chakra, in EFT we do not need to be aware of this. We simply tap on all the points since there are so few, and there can often be hidden unconscious beliefs or energy located in unexpected places.
Please note these points proceed down the body with the exception of the Karate Chop.

EFT (EMOTIONAL FREEDOM
EFT is a simple, yet effective tool for working through stress, emotions, and any kind of physical pain. I encourage you to use the basic recipe anytime and regularly. You’ll be amazed at how quickly things shift, and other times it might not seem like you’re getting very far. For the times you don’t notice much, know the effects accumulate over time. Then you can contact me or another practitioner to help work through the big stuff. There are many free resources on the internet. Please be sure adjust the wording to fit you and your feelings. The more specific to you and your situation the better! Scripts should only be used as a starting point. Gary Craig, the founder of EFT, offers free resources at: www.emofree.com
